About the Club - Mucambo Capoeira Angola

Capoeira for Children in Brighton

My name is Boneco de Sousa, and I am a Capoeira instructor based in Brighton with many years of experience teaching children and young people through movement, fitness, and percussion-based music.
Our Capoeira Angola group, Mucambo Children Capoeira Activity Club, runs weekly Capoeira sessions every Wednesday afternoon. New children are always welcome — come and check us out!
We are currently offering two free places for children from low-income families. Please contact us before attending.

What is Capoeira?

Capoeira is a Brazilian art form that combines movement, music, culture, and play. It helps children develop new skills while promoting wellbeing, confidence, and an active lifestyle. Sessions include fitness, musicality, cultural diversity, and social inclusion in a fun and supportive environment.
All children are included, with a strong emphasis on fun, camaraderie, and a sense of achievement. These elements help children build confidence and resilience while learning together.
Each Wednesday, children enjoy playful activities and Capoeira movements that encourage respect for one another, teamwork, and learning Brazilian Portuguese through Capoeira songs and music.
